What's the Difference Between Videoconferencing and Video Streaming?

We think videoconferencing is one of the coolest things since sliced bread, but it's not very mobile. Finding a videoconference facility in rural Ohio is going to be very challenging, but these days, almost every conference room in America has high-speed internet. In order to receive most of the benefits of videoconferencing anywhere there is a high-speed internet connection, consider video streaming.

Our videographer will hook the video feed into our streaming box, sending the audio and video feed over the internet where anyone with a unique and secure username and password can see and hear the peroceedings.

But Wait, That's Only a One-Way Feed!

True. Participants watching a video stream deposition cannot be seen nor heard in the deposition room, perhaps not making it the ideal choice for taking a deposition if you're on the far end (though we have successfully done this!). Video streaming does, however, feature an Instant Messaging application to communicate with either the group or individual participants.

Video streaming is best suited for allowing co-counsel, paralegals, litigation support staff and experts watch a deposition from their own offices and without incurring travel costs.

Is It Secure?

Yes! The video stream is encrypted, meaning only participants with authorization can view the feed.

If Realtime Reporting is ordered, our Video Streaming equipment can also send the realtime feed along with the video feed, allowing participants to read the transcript as it is being written.
